Hawks lose to Attica

After jumping out to a 2-0 in the first inning, the Holley varsity baseball team allowed ten runs to score, losing 10-2 to Attica on April 16.

Juniors Rob Wright and Nick Colucci singled in the bottom of the first and scored on a double by senior Scott Selden to account for the only runs of the game for the Hawks. The team would get only two more runners into scoring position the rest of the game - Paul Greean with a lead off double in the second inning and Travis Mitchell with a double in the sixth.

Attica scored three runs in the third inning and added seven more on six singles and several errors in the fourth off losing pitcher Selden. Following the game, head coach Mick VanDeMar said, "Scott pitched well for a couple of innings and at the beginning and end of the game. We've been working with him at changing speeds and Attica caught up to him in the middle innings."
