Parma-Hilton Historical Society schedules annual banquet
The Parma-Hilton Historical Society will hold their 32nd annual banquet on Monday, May 21 at Josie's Country JukeBox, 5435 Ridge Road West at 6 p.m. This will be a red, white and blue event at a red, white and blue club, according to a spokesperson for the group. The P-HHS, for many years, held their banquet at the Lutheran Church in Hilton. However, banquets are not held there anymore. Fittingly, according to members, Josie Waverly's remodeled western music and dance club provides another site of historical significance. Waverly has even offered to open the ceremony by singing the National Anthem.
The buffet dinner will offer ham and chicken and all the fixings. Following the meal, there will be installation of new officers and directors, plus a short business meeting. The program is Shirley Cox Husted's presentation, Our History Through Her Books. There will be copies of her books for purchase. The public is invited.
Tickets are $10 pr person and available from Barbara Miles at 392-2920 and the officers of the P-HHS. For information call Mary Eichas-Gavigan at 392-2784.
