WE-MO-CO students place tops in competition
Students from the WE-MO-CO Career and Technical Education Center in Spencerport earned top honors at the VICA (Vocational and Industrial Clubs of America) state skills competition in Syracuse on April 5-6.
Fifty-seven students from WE-MO-CO were among 3,000 BOCES (Board of Cooperative Educational Services) students from across New York state who competed. WE-MO-CO students who earned awards are John Nevadomski (Spencerport), first place - Advertising Design; Stephen Rees (Wheatland-Chili), first place - Commercial Baking; Jordan McGuire (Spencerport), first place - Office Technology; Jonathan Zilienski (Spencerport), second place - Industrial Motor Control; Joshua Bishop (Greece Athena), third place - Hydronic Heating; Marisol Cortez (Hilton), third place - Cosmetology Jr. Stylist; Nicole Liberti (Gates Chili) third place - Cosmetology Jr. Model; Matthew Huber (Brockport), third place - HVAC & Refrigeration; Andrew Fetzner (Greece Arcadia), third place - Collision Repair Technology.
First place winners will go on to compete in the national-level competition in Kansas City, June 25-30.
