The 25th annual Senior Citizen Trout Derby is scheduled for May 24 at Powder Mills Park from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

More than 150 senior adults from around Monroe County are expected to attend, including several area nursing home patients. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has waived fishing license requirements for this event.

Awards will be presented at approximately 10:50 a.m. In lieu of a registration fee, participants are asked to bring food for a local food pantry.

The Monroe County Office for the Aging, in cooperation with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the Powder Mills Fish Hatchery, will sponsor the derby.
