Saints beat Sutherland
Churchville-Chili took a 4-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back on their way to a 6-3 victory over Pittsford-Sutherland May 14.
Tim Nanry drove in two runs with a single and Dan Rudd laid down an RBI suicide squeeze in the first. Nanry added an RBI double to drive in Dave Johnson who had tripled in the fifth inning giving him 28 RBI's on the season - just five away from tying the school record of 33. He is also one home run short of the school record while having one of the top batting averages in Section Five this season, according to head coach Pete Reynolds.
Ryan Shekell started and pitched six innings allowing only two hits and striking out eight to even his record at 3-3. Freshman Robert Johnson, called up from junior varsity for the opportunity to pitch to his brother, senior catcher Dave Johnson, closed out the game in the seventh inning.
The Saints improved to 6-11, 6-8 and were awaiting the seeding for the Section Five tournament beginning May 22.
