County and ViaHealth hold
child car seat and bike safety event
A free Safety Clinic on Saturday, June 2, at Rochester General Hospital, 9 a.m. to noon could help ensure child car seats are properly installed and teach more about bike safety.
The first 1,200 kids, ages four to 12, who attend will receive a free bike helmet courtesy of the Twig Association at Rochester General Hospital. Kids are invited to bring their bikes to participate in a bicycle obstacle course sponsored by the Automobile Association of America (AAA).
Child car seat safety inspections must be scheduled in advance. Call ViaHealth at 1-877-922-LINK to make an appoint-ment.
Rochester General Hospital is located at 1425 Portland Avenue. Signs will di-rect traffic from the Carter Street entrance to the parking lot. The event is expected to serve nearly 1,000 children. Sponsors are Monroe County Office of Traffic Safety, the Monroe County Child Safety Committee and the Twig Association at Rochester General Hospital/ViaHealth.
