BERGEN

•Fain, Anne C., Suddenly, May 15, 2001 at Strong Memorial Hospital. She attended Buffalo State College and graduated from SUNY Brockport in 1955 with her degree in Elementary Education. She taught for a short time at St. Helen's School in Rochester. Her husband, Rupert E. Fain, died in 1995. Mrs. Fain is survived by a daughter, Lisa (Gordon) Maxwell of Rochester and two grandchildren. She is the sister of the late Jane Curtiss.

A Funeral Service was held May 19 at H. E. Turner and Company Funeral Home, Bergen. Interment Mt. Rest Cemetery, Bergen. Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.


BROCKPORT

•Rosenberg, Ruth F., On May 16, 2001 after a long illness. She is predeceased by her husband, George and is survived by her children, Gary (Susan), Glenn (Deborah), Gregg and Laurie; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral and interment at the convenience of the family. Friends can make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 430 East Henrietta Road, 14620.


HAMLIN

•Burke, Robert J., On May 15, 2001 at the age of 60. He is survived by his loving wife, Chalie; his son, Joey; his sister, Mary (Howard) Hueser; his mother-in-law, Esther Klafehn; sister-in-law, Sherilyn Unger; nieces and nephews, Fletcher and Trevor Unger and Michelle and Scott Hueser. He was the owner of Burke Enterprises; an Eagle Scout; a graduate of Cornell University; life-long member and Past President of the Hamlin Fire Department; President of the Hamlin Fire Department Exempts and member of the Hamlin Ambulance Corps; past member of the Hamlin Zoning Board; member of the Parish Council of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church and Church of the Nativity BVM.

A Mass celebrating his life was held on May 19 at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Hamlin. Interment private. Contributions can be made to the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church or the Hamlin Firemen's Exempt.


HILTON

•Chilson, Le Roy C. "Jim," May 18, 2001 of Clay, NY formerly of Hilton. He was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor, January 24, 2001. He is survived by his son, Neal (Julie) Chilson; his daughter, Marlene Chilson; granddaughter, Robin (Gary) Ferranti; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service was held May 22 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., Hilton. Interment, Garland Cemetery. Those wishing can make contributions to Lifetime Assistance, or American Diabetes Association in his memory.


•Faber, Margaret (Jackson), Tuesday, May 1, 2001 in Tucson, Arizona at age 71. Predeceased by her son, Brian Anthony. Margaret was born on February 23, 1930 in Ramsbottom, England, graduated from Leeds University, and arrived in the United States in 1953. Survived by a daughter, Alice Areke Fraser; and sons, Jon Bart (Yolanda), Willem Dirk (Rena) and Andrew Martin (Tammy); grandchildren, Zachary, Abigail, Sarah, Jacob, Alison, Meghan, Erik, and Liza. Margaret lived for about 40 years in Hilton, and helped start Noah's Nursery School at the Hilton Methodist Church, where she taught for many years.

A Memorial Service was held May 21 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, English Road, Greece. Donations in her memory can be made to the American Diabetes Association, 320 Lexington Avenue, Rochester, NY 14613.


•Julian, Anthony Jr., May 16, 2001 at age 68. Survived by his wife, Ruth (Hadley) Julian; sons, Mark and Jack Julian; daughter, Julie Ann (Ronald) Stebbins; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brother, Peter (Carol) Julian; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service and interment private.


HOLLEY

•Christopher, Michael D., At age 71, on May 15, 2001. Survived by wife, Margaret "Jenny"; son, Michael; sister, Joan Crovello; mother, Delia Christopher; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held May 19 at St. Mary's Church, Holley. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Holley Emergency Squad or St. Vincent DePaul Society.


NORTH CHILI

•Sotile, Roger P. "Bucky," May 17, 2001. Survived by his adoring wife of 36 years, Carol Wagner Sotile; children, Bryan (Beverly) Sotile, Melissa Sotile; three grandchildren; sister, Carol (Chuck) Amalfi; brother, Robert (Carol) Sotile; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mildred and Ray Wagner; sisters-in-law, Joyce (Tom) Foss, Monica Sotile; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many special friends.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated May 21 at Holy Ghost Church (Coldwater Road). Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.


SPENCERPORT

•Sutphen, Emily A. (Messmer), May 19, 2001. Survived by her loving husband, James; sons, Michael (Melissa) and Kurt; grandchildren, Tyler, Nicholas and Tucker; brother, Heinz Messmer of Germany; sisters, Elsie Schurr and Irma Saufferer; sister-in-law, Jean (Don) Leiske; brothers-in-law, Fred and Roger Sutphen; nieces and nephews. Emily was a retiree of the Rochester City School District.
