Scholastic winners chosen
Chili Lions Youth Football and Cheerleaders Inc. have announced the 2001 scholastics winners. Nationally the first place winner was Jonathan Neri Jr., Pee Wee purple, with a GPA of 99.82. The second team All Americans were : Kevin Eich 97.80, Isreal Washington 98.60, David Easton 98.80, Jeff Harter 98.00, Kevin Quatro 97.80, Andy Hilton 97.70, Sal Cimino 99.00, Quinn Wacenske 97.20, Krisina Grow 98.00, Nicole Hammond 97.40 and Courtney Webb 96.60. Local winners were Adam Falk, 96.15, and Dominic Thompson, 96.20. Also the following teams placed regionally (five states) for scholastics: Pee Wee Cheerleaders 5th, Jr. Midget Cheerleaders 6th, Midget Cheerleaders 10th, Jr. Pee Wee Gold Players 4th, Jr. Midget Players 7th and Midget Players 5th.
In addition, the Lions will be awarding the Simms-Breon Memorial Scholarship award to Senior Michael Castrichini from Gates Chili Senior High School.
