Brockport Firefighters

Brockport Fire Chief Gregory Wing and Assistant Chief Mark Warner were on hand to accept $3,600 worth of Rescue Breathing equipment from Mike Willwerth, Haz-Mat Team Leader at Agri-Link Foods.

During the recent Fund Drive of the Brockport Fire Department, one local company decided to donate equipment rather than money to firefighters. Agri-Link Foods of State Street, Brockport, was in the process of up-grading their Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), which are similar to those used by firefighters. They had used the same bottles as firefighters, which provide thirty minutes of air. Their new bottles will allow their personnel to work in an impure environment for up to an hour. Chief Wing said he was very pleased to accept the bottles on behalf of the fire department. This donation will allow the department to replace some outdated bottles as well as save taxpayers over $3,500 in equipment purchases. The bottles donated are in "like new" condition and were able to be put to use right away. (The Fire Department does not use 60 minute bottles in its operations.)

In accepting the bottles from Agri-Link, Chief Wing had nothing but high praise for the company, their dedication to an emergency preparedness team that assists his department whenever called to the manufacturing facility, and the company's commitment to maintain state-of-the-art emergency equipment for their personnel.
