Chili senior programs
Day Trip to Welland Canal, St. Catherine's, Ontario, Canada - Tuesday, July 17, includes transportation via a deluxe motorcoach tour of town of Welland to see mural, admission to the Welland Canal Museum, sit-down luncheon at Freighter's Food Emporium, and matinee performance of "Forever Plaid." $40 per Chili resident. Non-residents may register, space permitting, beginning June 18 for $55.
AARP Defensive Driving Course - for adults age 50 and older on Friday, July 20 and July 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chili Senior Center, 3235 Chili Avenue. After completion of the two-day course (one session), participants will receive a 10 percent reduction in liability and collision insurance. The certification is good for three years. The course is instructed by a certified AARP volunteer instructor. The fee is $10. Registration is required.
Beginning Oil Painting - Mondays from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. beginning June 4. $25 plus supplies. Supplies run approximately $13 and may be purchased at first class. Participants must provide a smock or old shirt, small towel, small glass jar for turpentine and a photo (or photo quality picture) of the item or scene to paint.
Drawing Class - Mondays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. beginning June 4. $25 plus supplies. Participants must provide a 9x11 sketch book, kneaded eraser, 2H, HB, 2B and a 6B pencil.
Finger Lakes Race Track Trip - Monday, June 11. Bus leaves the senior center at 11 a.m. and returns at 4 p.m. $10 per person and includes admission and lunch.
Walking Club - Tuesday mornings at 8:30 a.m. at the Chili Senior Center. Members car pool to local parks to walk. The schedule includes: June 5 - Fairport Canal; June 12 - Maplewood Rose Gardens; June 19 -Schoen Place, Pittsford; June 26 - Charlotte Beach.
