The Orleans County American Legion Nursing Scholarship Committee has announced the 2001 winners. The winners are Tanya Smith and Andrea Strong. This year it was decided to award two $500 nursing scholarships.

Tanya Smith, a senior at Medina High School, has been accepted into the Nursing program at Niagara Community College and will begin classes in September.

The other recipient is Andrea Strong, a senior at Kendall High School, who has been selected to be a member of the fall 2001 freshman class at the University of Buffalo, the State University of New York.

The scholarships will be presented at the December meeting of the Orleans County American Legion at the Jewell Buckman Post 529 in Holley.
