Parma Public Library schedules summer program
The Parma Library will offer a full range of programs for children of all ages this summer. Pre-school Story Hours for children three to five years old are a blend of stories, songs, games, films and fun. Sessions will be held on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. The first and second grade Story Hour will be held on Monday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. It features stories, songs, games, crafts, and fun. For children going into third, fourth and fifth grade, Readers' Club meets on Wednesdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sixth graders are also welcome.
The fifth and sixth grade Reading Contest runs from July 1 to August 31. The 5th or 6th grader who reads the most books at different reading levels will win a $15 gift certificate from Barnes and Noble Bookstore.
Family Reading Night is a program for the whole family. Turn off the TV and radio for an hour or two and enjoy a good book with the whole family. Pick up a family reading log at the library and record library visits and books read.
Registration is required for each of the programs and may be done in person or by calling the library at 392-8350. All story hours start the week of July 9 and run through the week of August 24.
