BERGEN
Bumbarger, Seth Michael, age 16, of Bergen, a junior at Byron-Bergen Central School, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on Townline Road in Bergen. Seth was born June 14, 1984 in Rochester, the son of Kirt William and Dianne Elizabeth Dunn Bumbarger of Bergen. Seth was musically talented and played the drums, percussion, and tuba in the Byron-Bergen School Band and he sang in the chorus. He wrestled on the Varsity wrestling team, where he earned a Varsity letter and he was a member of the school track team. He was a member of the youth group at the Christ Community Church in Brockport. He was employed at Denny's Restaurant in Brockport, where he was a busboy and dishwasher. Seth enjoyed cars, computers and listening to music. He had dreams to manufacture speakers and sound systems. He was very mechanical.
Surviving along with his parents are two brothers, Nathan Bumbarger and Ian Bumbarger, both of Bergen; a sister, Anne Bumbarger of Bergen; his paternal grandparents, Frederick (Betty) Bumbarger of Churchville; his maternal grandfather, Eugene Dunn of Spencerport and many cousins. He was the grandson of the late Arlene Dunn.
Funeral Services were held on June 13 at Christ Community Church, Brockport. Interment Mt. Rest Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the family.
CLARKSON
Lewis, Eugene L. "Bud," Peacefully on June 9, 2001 at the age of 73 with the loving support of his family. Survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Stel; his children, Jeffery (Carol) Lewis, Mallory (Jim) Conlon, Mindy (Fran) Albanese, Gail (David) Spencer and Larry (Cindy) Kettenburg; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Dave Wrisley and cousin, Bus Dunn; also many nieces, nephews and close friends.
A Funeral Service was held July 11 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., Hilton. Memorial donations can be made to Lakeside Foundation, 156 West Avenue, Brockport 14420 in his memory.
HILTON
Smith, Catherine (Harrington), June 8, 2001 at age 93, widow of William Smith, 1996. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, C. Joyce Kramer, Elaine Sheldon, Jim (Georgia) and Ken (Sharon) Rice; several great-nieces and nephews; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sidney, Charles (Vi) Smith and Laura Johnston; a devoted friend, Dana Michael.
A service of remembrance was held June 16 at the Thomas Burger Funeral Home, Inc., Hilton. Those wishing can make contributions to the Hilton United Methodist Church Remembrance Fund or Hilton Ambulance in her memory.
NORTH CHILI
Au, Thomas E., On June 11, 2001. Predeceased by his wife, Jean Au; survived by his daughter and her husband, Kathleen and Douglas Mac Leay; two grandchildren. He was a member of Chili Fireman's Exempts Inc., and the Transportation Council of Greater Rochester.
Services and interment in North Chili Rural Cemetery at the family's convenience.
SPENCERPORT
Romano, Violet J., Saturday, June 9, 2001. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Romano. She is survived by her cousins, Ruth and Charles Habgood of Hilton; her dear friends, Patricia Hill, Ray and Jean Chajka, and other cousins and friends. She was a retiree of Eastman Kodak Company and a member of Ogden Baptist Church.
