'Practical PC for seniors'
coming up at Genesee Orleans Center
Genesee Community College will offer its "Practical Personal Computers for Seniors" course at the Orleans Campus Center, Fridays, June 29 to August 3, from 9 a.m. to noon. The course is ideal for adults over the age of 50 who wish to learn the workings of the personal computer.
The course covers computer startup, basic word processing skills, an introduction to spreadsheets and databases, and an overview of the Internet, e-mail, and the World Wide Web. This course is built around the interests of senior adults, and many of the examples and exercises used in the course are designed to give seniors the computer skills they are likely to use in daily life. Many senior adults, for example, enjoy using e-mail to communicate with their children or grandchidren, so the course includes family e-mail communication as a topic.
More information and registration details are available from the Center, 456 West Avenue, Albion, 589-4936. Prior computer experience or knowledge is not necessary.
