AREA

•Pike, Helen E., On June 16, 2001. She was predeceased by her husbands, Victor Smith and Fred Pike; and her daughters, Janet and Joyce. She is survived by her son, Floyd (Catherine) Smith; her daughter Phoebe "Cookie" Pickard; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one brother Ambrose Sweeney; two sisters, Jean and Pauline; several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass was held June 20 at St. Mark's Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre. Those wishing can offer Masses or contribute to Clarendon Ambulance Crew in her memory.


BROCKPORT

•Lancashire, Elizabeth Justin (Betty), on Monday, June 18, 2001. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Maud Lancashire; sister, Hester (Birdie) Lancashire; brothers, George and John Lancashire; and is survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy Lancashire, Montour Falls, New York; niece, Pat (Burt) Bridge, Norwich, New York; great-nieces and nephews, Richard and Shirley Bergman, Horseheads, New York, Bob and Kim Bergman, Lanthecun Heights, Maryland, Barb and Michael Guarnaccia, Andover, Massachusetts and Christie Bridge, Norwich, New York

She was a life-long resident of Brockport and a Brockport High School graduate and attended Darrow/May Secretarial School in Rochester. She worked for the village as deputy clerk and treasurer. In her younger years she assisted with WWII Rochester Ordinance Services Army and she was a member of the St. Luke's Episcopal Church, an avid bowler, loved her pets, gardening and travel.

Funeral Services were held June 21 at the Fowler Funeral Home Inc., Brockport. Interment Lakeview Cemetery.


CHURCHVILLE

•Borgus, Mary Margaret, Saturday, June 16, 2001 at age 97. She was predeceased by her husband, William Borgus; her son, Sherman Pitcher, her daughter, Jean Hottois. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret A. DeBerger of Churchville; eight grandchildren, including Michelle (Ray) McCarthy of Churchville; several great grand children including Ashley, Katelyn and Miranda.

Funeral Services were held June 19 at the Walker Brothers Company Funeral Home Inc., Churchville. Interment Creekside Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Memorial Fund of Riga Congregational Church in her memory.


•Place, Mildred O., At age 98, formerly of Rochester, on June 6, 2001 in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Born in Clarendon, she was a past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star. She leaves behind her son, Robert Place of Lawrenceville, Georgia; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Hazel Root of Holley.


HAMLIN

•Hall, Pauline Fox, May 22, 2001, formerly of Hamlin and Brockport. Born in the Henrietta area November 26, 1916 to Edna and John Paul Fox, she attended school in Henrietta, Brockport and Rush. She married Norman Hall and the couple had two daughters.

Mrs. Hall worked at Eastman Kodak for many years and retired in the 1960s.

She moved to Southern Pines, North Carolina to be closer to family in the mid-1980s. Then to Pine City, Minnesota in the mid 1990s.

She is survived by a daughter, June Keady; granddaughter, Jenny Keady and great grandson, Kyle Keady, all of Carthage, North Carolina; granddaughter, Kathy Keady of Clarendon; a sister, Ruth Thiry of Pine City, Minnesota; and a brother, Warren Fox of Rochester.

A Memorial Service was held in Pine City. Those wishing can make contributions to a charity of choice in her memory.


•Harvey, Susan (Cary), on Sunday, June 17, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Clay Autry; her parents, Donald and Sophie Cary; three brothers, Douglas, Donald Jr. and Timothy; several nieces and cousins.

Funeral Services were held June 19 at the Fowler Funeral Home Inc., Brockport. Interment private. Friends wishing may contribute to the Juvenile Diabetes Association in her memory.


Smith, Charles G., On June 19, 2001 at the age of 73. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Florence; his daughters, Charlene Favata, Susan (Gary) Rosenberg and Karen (Ron) Burgio; son, Charlie (Jackie) Smith; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was a life member of Hamlin VFW Post #6703 and a retiree of Eastman Kodak Company.

A Graveside Service was held June 23 at Lake View Cemetery. Donations can be made to Hamlin Volunteer Ambulance Corps in his memory.


HILTON

•Alexander, Richard M. "Dick," Age 69, on June 13, 2001, at home after an extended illness. He is survived by his wife, Shirley M. (Sero); sons, Richard E. (Nancy), Paul M. (Kathryn), Thomas J. (Becky) and James W. (Andrea) Alexander; 10 grandchildren; brothers, James (Mary Louise) and Ronald Alexander; sister-in-law, Marilyn Curtis; grandniece, Jennifer Monks; aunts, Ruth Irwin and Hilda Kraus; several nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends including, faithful Labrador companion, Duke. He was a veteran of the Korean War, a Kodak retiree, and active in the Boy Scouts.

A Funeral Mass was held June 16 at St. Lawrence Church. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Greece Public Library, #2 Vincent Tofany Boulevard, Rochester 14616.


KENDALL

•Meiers, William E., At age 81, on June 20, 2001. Survived by wife, Lillian; sons, Bill (Cheryl) Meiers of Walworth, Larry (Vicky) Meiers of Montgomery, Alabama, Roland (Andrea) Meiers of Albion; daughter, Mary (David) Bartman of Webster; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold (Carol) Meiers of Colorado, Lester (Marge) Meiers of North Carolina; sisters, Ruthie (Bill) Diedrich of Pennsylvania, Thelma Zimmer of Brockport; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held June 23 at St. Mark's Church in Kendall. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the American Lung Association.


SPENCERPORT

•Everett, Charles, W. Jr., On June 19, 2001 at age 84. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years Mable T. Everett and his son, William. He is survived by his two daughters, Bonnie (Ray) Peters and Barbara F. Jensen; his son, Bruce (Anne) Everett of Tucson, Arizona; his 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service was held June 23 at the Walker Brothers Company Funeral Home, Inc., Spencerport. Interment Grove Place Cemetery. Those wishing can make contributions to the American Diabetes Association or to Spencerport Volunteer Ambulance in his memory.


Magee, Marie H. "Helen", Monday, June 18, 2001 at age 88. She was predeceased by her husband, James A. Magee and her daughter, Mary Ann Gruendike. She is survived by her children, Patricia (Millard) DuBois, Jacqueline Bruckner and James (Justine) Magee of Jamestown; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; her favorite niece, Marie Bushman; her dear friend, Marian Schepler, and several other nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass was said June 21 at St. John's Church, Spencerport. Interment, St. Pius X Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association in her memory.


McCullough, Leona M. (Dean), On June 16, 2001. Predeceased by son, Ronald E. Dean. She is survived by her husband, Clifford E. Sr.; two sons, and daughters-in-law, Donald W. and Mary Ann Dean, Clifford J. Jr. and Bonnie McCullough; one daughter, Wanda Williams; several grandchildren; great grandchildren and nieces.
