Gillam-Grant summer activities
Gillam-Grant Public Library offers the following summer activities at 6966 West Bergen Road, Bergen.
The registration for the summer reading program, "2001: A Reading Odyssey" is taking place now. On July 11 at 10:30 a.m., Tom Rasely's Odyssey Oddities will be on the agenda and on August 21 at 2 p.m., a Penny Carnival will be held in celebration of the end of the reading program.
Starting July 16 and for six Mondays - Byron Book Stop will be held at the Byron Presbyterian Church. From 1:45 to 3:45 p.m. Books, VCRs, etc. may be borrowed and story times or free programs will be held at 2:30 p.m. The July 16 program will be Barb Savage - folk songs.
July 23 - Ward Hartenstein and his hilarious homemade musical instruments.
July 30 - Chris Atkinson, "The Magic Guy," will perform.
August 6 - Marianne Smith and her exotic animals will be at the Book Stop.
Beginning July 9 - Gillam-Grant Library hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Monday; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday. Closed on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Telephone 494-1621 for information.
