For the past six years, Mora and Jerry Edwards, owners of the Barre Deli, have sponsored a charity golf tournament benefiting everyone from a little girl born with a severe birth defect to the Meals-On-Wheels program and the Orleans County Office for the Aging's Personal Emergency Response System Program (Lifeline).

This year, they will be supporting the Office for the Aging's Last Resort Fund. The Last Resort Fund is for the seniors of Orleans County who have a true, unmet health and/or ssafety need and no financial means or ability to meet it. Through this fund and with the support of the local community, the Office for the Aging has been able to assist in several projects. One recent project was helping to purchase the materials to build a ramp for someone who wouldn't be able to live at home without it.
