On Wednesday, August 1, the Monroe County Fair will hold a Miss/Mr. Majorette Contest at 4:30 p.m. in the Barnstormers Festival Tent on the Fairgrounds. Three separate contests opened to all ages are planned; the Miss/Mr. Monroe County Fair; the Miss/Mr. Monroe County Majorette/Major and the Best Appearing Majorette/Major. Winners are eligible to enter the State Finals in the fall.

At 4:15 p.m. prior to the judging, there will be a free beginners clinic for anyone wishing to learn about twirling, even if they have never tried before. All participants will participate in the Opening Day Parade on the Fairgrounds at 4 p.m.
