Turkey watchers are wanted
Volunteers are needed to help with the annual Summer Wild Turkey Sighting Survey during the month of August. The survey is done to collect data on the recent hatching success and turkey numbers in general.
Volunteers are sent an information letter and a supply of data cards, one for each flock of turkeys seen in the course of normal day to day travels. Basically nothing complicated, just big birds, little birds, where and when. Anyone with an interest and familiarity with wild turkeys is encouraged to participate.
Call Art Kirsch at the DEC Avon office at 716-226-5461 for information.
