Brockport realigns elementary class sites
Major change at Brockport elementary schools is designed to help students meet the challenges of the New York State Learning Standards and assessments. Classes will be restructured across all three elementary schools, beginning with the opening of school, this September, according to school district representatives. All kindergarten and first grades will be at the Ginther School, all second- and third-grades at the Barclay School, and all fourth-and fifth-grades at the Hill School.
The addition of classrooms at the Ginther and the Barclay Elementary Schools, part of the nearly completed capital project, allows for the realigning of classes so there will be a more even distribution of enrollment among the buildings. District officials say there will be more consistency of educational program opportunities across grade levels, including Academic Intervention Services and special education.
