The new Monroe County web site address is www.monroecounty.gov.

Until recently, .gov domain names were only available to federal government agencies. Non-federal but governmental agencies (municipal, state, county, etc.) are now eligible to register for these domains.

The Monroe County Web site has been online since 1997 and provides information on more than 19 departments and numerous subdivisions. The county is currently looking to revamp its existing site to enhance its appeal and usefulness to visitors. Planned improvements will increase the site's online capabilities and further increase departmental efficiency and reduce departmental traffic.

The previous web site address, www.co.monroe.ny.us, will continue to remain operational for a transitional period.
