Clarendon Lions have successful year

Don Knapp, of the Clarendon Lions Club, presents Linda Kimmel, supervising school nurse for Holley Central School District, with one of the two nebulizers the organization recently donated to the district. The devices, one of which will be kept in the nurse's office at each school, are compressed air machines used to deliver asthma medication. "With a prescription from a health care provider and a registered nurse or licensed practicing nurse to administer the medication, a child with asthma will now be able to attend school on days when he or she previously would have been home ill," said Kimmel.

Clarendon Lions
have successful year

The Clarendon Lions Club has had an excellent year. The club earned money from its geranium sale, mint sales, sausage and hot dog sale at the Clarendon K&K and at the Clarendon Festival. The annual yard/garage sale in September 2000 went very well and another is scheduled for this September.

The monies earned have gone to the Leadership Dog Foundation, Guide Dog Foundation, two scholarships for local students (Holley Central Schools), Lions Camp Badger (which includes a diabetes youth camp), ARC of Orleans County, Guiding Eyes Foundation, SUNY Brockport Lions as well as the three benches donated to the gazebo at the Clarendon Town Hall. Holiday Food Baskets were given out again last holiday season. Medical equipment was donated to local families, schools, and area medical closets as designated by the Orleans County Health Department and as donated to the club by the community.
