AREA

•Mitchell, John M., August 5, 2001 at the age of 85. Mr. Mitchell was born in June of 1916 in Pikeville, Kentucky. John moved to this area over 40 years ago. Mr. Mitchell was a retiree of Owens-Illinois Brockport plant in 1980.

Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife, Ruby (Brown) Mitchell of Medina; a son, James (Patty Putnam) Mitchell of Waterport; six stepchildren, Darrell "Joe" Gray and Russell Gray both of Florida, Berma (Gray) Ernst of Fishers, NY, Billy Gray of Clarendon, Mrs. Michael (Karen Sue) Conlon of Barre Center and Sharon (Faye) Calkins of Albion; 26 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service was held at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Albion August 9. Interment Mount Albion Cemetery. Memorial remembrances can be made to Hospice of Orleans County.


CLARKSON

•Case, Marjorie M., August 3, 2001. Predeceased by her husband, Harry Case. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Case and Deborah (William) Haines; granddaughter, Sarah Haines; brothers, sister, nieces and nephews.

HOLLEY

•Peters, Paul W., 78, of Holley, died Saturday, August 4, 2001 at the Buffalo VA Health Center after a long illness. He was born on July 11, 1923 in Grandy, NY, the son of the late Harry and Edna (Bradley) Peters.

Mr. Peters grew up in Baldwinsville, NY area. After completing high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy as an aircraft machinist and served during World War II. Upon returning home after the war, he was a machinist by trade, working for numerous companies across New York state, lastly retiring from S.B. Whistler and Sons Tool and Die, of Akron, NY. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing and fishing.

He was a member of the Nocturnal Lodge #1137 Fraternal Order of the Masons, Valley of Buffalo; AASR Ismalia Oriental Band, the Kenmore Shrine Club and the Medina Moose Lodge #789. He is survived by a sister, Edna Wright, of Syracuse, NY; two brothers, Wilber Peters of Cortland, NY and Charles (Frances) Peter of Liverpool, NY; a sister-in-law, Neva Peters of Auburn, NY and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Fredrick Peters, and two wives, Ruth Peters and Angela Peters, predeceased him.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Monday, August 13 at 1 p.m. at the West Ridgeway Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded.

Memorials can be made in his name to the charity of one's choice in his memory.


SPENCERPORT

•Bennett, Robert L., Saturday, August 4, 2001. He is survived by his daughters, Jane (Frank) Bavrick of Webster, Jean Bennett of Mumford and Judith Mosher of Pennsylvania; his son, William (Lynne) Bennett of Spencerport; his grandchildren, Devon (Bridget) Beach, Gregory Bavrick, Douglas Bennett, Cody Bennett, Tyler Mosher, Melissa (Marc) LeBeau and Duane (Emi) Hutton; great granddaughter, Madeline LeBeau; two sisters, Ruth (Robert) Floyd of Hilton and Betty Lou Willard of Rochester; several nieces and nephews. He was a retiree of Wegmans.

Funeral Services were held August 9 at Walker Brothers Company Funeral Home Inc., Spencerport. Interment Parma Corners Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation in his memory.


•Goodridge, Mary G., Tuesday, July 31, 2001. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Oliver B. Goodridge. Survived by her son, David L. (Betty) Goodridge of Brockport; three sisters, Rose (Bob) Gell, Frances (Donte) Bellato and Violet (Andy) Vogel; her brother-in-law, Bill Prokpopt; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service was held August 11 at the Walker Brothers Company Funeral Home Inc., Spencerport. Contributions can be made to the Strong Memorial Hospital Oncology Department or to the American Cancer Society in her memory.


•Moore, Charles Harold, July 28, 2001. Survived by his daughter, Sharon (Donald) Trojan of Spencerport; grandchildren, Cindy (Sandy) Guerrero of Virginia, Christopher (Cindi) Boberg of Florida, Candi (Michael) Smith of Hilton; great-grandchildren, Chelsea Jenkins, Jordan Boberg, Caitlin Smith; sister, Mary Moore; brother, Robert Moore of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
