The new Lakeside 5K Race is scheduled for September 15. Recreational and amateur runners are invited to participate in what is sure to become an annual event in Brockport. The course will begin on West Avenue, adjacent to the hospital, continue toward Redman Road, turn towards the canal and follow the canal back to the start/finish area.

An experienced competitor himself, Race Manager Terry Klinetob says, "We are very pleased to be able to bring this type of event to the Brockport area and to support Lakeside in this fashion." All proceeds will go to Lakeside Health System to support part of the Capital Campaign.

This event is open to everyone including walkers. The race will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday and registration begins at 8 a.m. Refreshments and water will be provided to participants. Awards in each age category will be given and times will be electronically monitored. Registration may be done online and costs $12 or $15 on the day of the race. All participants that pre-register will receive a free official race t-shirt.
