Brockport area groups are invited to volunteer to participate in the Adopt-A-Trail program of the NYS Canal Corporation and the Canalway Trails Association of New York. The Town of Sweden is sponsoring the project within its boundaries. Groups will undertake tasks similar to those performed by Adopt-a-Highway groups, including monitoring the towpath, reminding trail users of regulations, assessing the condition of the trail, collecting litter, removing fallen branches, emptying trash cans, trimming bushes, inspecting and repairing signs, and similar work.

Copies of the Canal Corporation's draft guidelines for the program are available from Town of Sweden Clerk Gail DeToy at 18 State Street, 637-2144.
