The Rochester Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society (NRHS) offers Fall Foliage Railroad Excursions from Sodus, New York beginning in September.

This diesel powered, 34 mile, two-and-a-half hour round trip using former New York Central Stainless Steel Rail Passenger Cars will leave from the Ontario Midland Railroad's Sodus, New York loading area located on Rotterdam Road (1/2 mi. S of Rt. 104) and travel to Newark through scenic tree lined former New York Central and Pennsylvania RR trackage. These trips are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. on Saturdays, October 6 and 13 and Sundays, September 16, 23, 30, October 7, 14, 21 and 28. Ticket prices are adults $10 and children 3-15, $6 (children under 3 ride free if seated on adults lap). Proceeds go to the Rochester and Genesee Valley Railway Musuem operating funds.

On Sunday, September 16, a special for grandparents includes half price adult tickets ($5 instead of regular $10) for grandparents traveling with grandchildren.

Family fare day is Sunday, September 23. For one day only, all children's tickets will be $3, (50 percent saving off regular child fare).

Sunday, September 30, the trips will visit the 1940s with music, events, and memories from that time period in railcars that were built in 1941.

The Halloween Express train is scheduled for Sunday, October 28. Costumes invited.
