Pearce Memorial Church has expanded by approximately 38,000 square feet and is opening new doors to the community. Facilities are now fully handicapped accessible and the sanctuary is air-conditioned. Six new classrooms will accommodate Sunday morning and Wednesday evening classes and seminars.
The new Family Life Center accommodates two full-sized basketball/volleyball courts, or seating for 800. A full schedule of athletic opportunities for all ages is being developed for fall, including men's basketball, coed volleyball and kids basketball.
A Grand Opening will be held September 15-16. Saturday activities include a hot-shot basketball tournament for all ages, beginning at noon. At 3 p.m. will be tours, displays, food and face painting and balloons for the kids. A Celebration Concert at 6 p.m. features Pearce's worship team, sanctuary choir, men and women's choirs, vocal and instrumental soloists accompanied by the Pearce worship band and full orchestra.
On Sunday a special service of dedication will take place at 10 a.m. in the Family Life Center. Bishop Richard Snyder of the Eastern Area Free Methodist Church will speak at the 8:30 a.m. (contemporary) and 11 a.m. (traditional) worship services.
