Kodakers cover a lot of ground at ambulance corps
On Saturday, September 8, as part of Kodak's global volunteer initiative, Kodak employees and retirees donated their time and energy to improve the quality of life in the communities in which they live and work.
"Hundreds of Kodak employees and their families and friends came out on their day off to make a difference in our community," said Grace Tillinghast, community relations and contributions, Eastman Kodak Company. "Dozens of teams worked throughout Rochester as well as in the surrounding suburban towns and villages."
According to Team Captain Richard Yockel, his team made a tremendous difference at Spencerport's Ambulance Corps facility. "Several Kodak volunteers removed weeds from an 8,000-square foot area so it could be incorporated into the facility's landscape," Yockel said. Another group helped with the Corps' fundraising mailing. "Preparing and assembling a mailing like this takes a lot of hands and time," Yockel added. "So the more hands, the better. What would have taken a few people hours and hours to accomplish was finished in a very short time."
"Kodak's global initiative benefits everyone involved," added Tillinghast. "Kodakers choose the projects they are interested in and combine their talents and skills to make a world of difference in the Greater Rochester Area and other communities where Kodak has a presence."
