Cool Kids fall slate set
Cool Kids, a family event sponsored by the Brockport Student Government, is held every other Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Seymour Union, at SUNY Brockport College campus. (One program - the Mexican Holiday - will be at the Tower Fine Arts Lobby.) There are no age limits, no advance signups, and no cost to the public. Cool Kids usually lasts about an hour. Free parking is available.
The series debuts on October 3 with 'Bubble Mania' featuring the ever-popular Bubble Master stirring up all kinds of sudsy silliness with soap operas, bubble sculptures, comedy, music and lots of giant bubbles. Get ready to dance on October 17 with International Folk Dance Festival, featuring folk dance ensemble DaIgramo. Appearing in dazzling costumes, the dancers will lead kids, parents and participants on a dance adventure around the world (This event still takes place in the Seymour Union - but will be in the Seymour Ballroom).
On October 31 a Mexican Holiday will be packed with authentic and traditional storytelling, Mexican papercutting, customs plus photo and art exhibits. On November 14 - You Can Be a Weather Wizard will plunge kids into the world of science as they touch lightning, make tornadoes and create thunder. The finale is a World Holiday Scrap Art extravaganza of creativity! Participants will be able to make cards, gifts and fun stuff for Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas and more on November 28.
