Chili has three way race for supervisor

Chili Supervisor Steve Hendershott, the endorsed Republican candidate, will face two challengers in the November election. In a primary day battle for the Conservative Party line, Hendershott lost out to George A. Goodwin by a vote of 83 to 50. Democrat Jason Elliotto is also a candidate for supervisor, giving Chili voters a field of three from which to choose.

Chili residents will also select two councilpersons in November. During Tuesday’s Republican primary, J. Donald Faso and Mary C. Sperr got the nod with 714 and 670 votes, respectively. Challenger Edward Merante finished with 570 votes.

Sperr, who also has the Independent Party endorsement, and Faso will face off against Democrat and Conservative Party Candidate James J. Powers and Democrat and Conservative Party Candidate George Bartnett. Two of the four candidates will be elected to four-year terms on Chili’s Town Board.
