Every year during the month of June, the Lions Club of Chili presents a $400 scholarship award to members of the senior class of each of the three high schools that serves the town, based on the excellent citizenship, dedication, volunteerism and services to their schools and communities.

The recipients for the 2000-2001 academic year were: Amy Cocchiarella from Gates Chili High School; Stefania Carrano from Churchville-Chili High School; and Nicholas C. DeVries from Wheatland-Chili High School.

The formal presentations were made during the commencement exercises by representatives of the Lions Club.
