Remillard leads Blue Devils
The Brockport Blue Devils gave up an early goal, then came from behind led by Stephen Remillard's three-point game, to defeat Hilton 3-2 in boys soccer on September 20.
Hilton junior Kevin Burritt scored after a pass from David Chojnowski in the seventh minute of the game to give the Cadets an early 1-0 lead. Brockport tied the game in the thirtieth minute on Aaron Webster's shot, which deflected off the goalkeeper and dribbled into the net to end the half tied 1-1.
In the game's fifty-fifth minute, the Blue Devils' Remillard sent a high cross from the left side above the box where sophomore Kyle Burghardt gathered the ball, made a one-touch move around the defender, and scored. Remillard then scored a goal of his own knocking in his own rebound despite an extreme angle to give Brockport a 3-1 lead. "It was just a dream game for me," Remillard said. "We started weak in the first half, but then came on strong again in the second half."
Hilton closed out the scoring as Chojnowski picked up his second assist by feeding junior Mike Maslyn in the box making the final score 3-2 Brockport.
