Hill and Smith pace Blue Devils
Ariana Hill and Natalie Smith won two events each and were both part of two winning relay teams as Brockport defeated Gates Chili 97-83 in girls swimming October 4.
Hill won the 100-meter freestyle in 58.51 along with the 50-meter freestyle. In the 200-meter relay, she, along with Stacey Krens, Lia Daniels and Natalie Smith won in 1:52.29. Merideth Lewis joined Hill, Smith and Daniels in winning the 400-meter relay in 4:08.92.
Smith won the 200 and 500-meter freestyle events - the latter in 5:31.88. In addition to the relay events, Daniels won the 100-meter butterfly in 1:08.93 and Lewis finished first in the 100-meter backstroke in 1:10.95. Heather Markel won the diving competition for Brockport.
The Blue Devils evened their record at 3-3 with the victory.
