Brockport splashes Rangers
The Brockport Blue Devils finished first in six individual races, including two wins by Merideth Lewis, on their way to a 101-82 win over Spencerport in girl's swimming October 18.
Lewis won the 200-meter individual medley in 2:32.20 and the 500-meter freestyle in 6:01.24. Other winners were Natalie Smith in the 200-meter freestyle in 2:12.13; Arianna Hill in the 50-meter freestyle in 27.27, Lia Daniels in the 100-meter butterfly in 1:08.85 and Brianna Seiber won the diving competition.
The Rangers had three winning teams - Katie Carpenter won the 100-meter backstroke, Lindsey DeMers won the 100-meter breastroke in 1:17.71 and the team of DeMers, Katie Tyner, Maryanne Eisenberg and Meghan Weinpress won the 200 meter relay in 1:53.02.
Brockport's relay team of Danielle LeBeau, Kris Veltz, Daniels and Hill won the 200-meter medley relay while LeBeau, Stacey Kren, Seiber and Rachel Noel won the 400-meter relay. The Section Five meet is scheduled for November 8 and 10 at SUNY Brockport.
