BOCES 2 VICA officers
raise $9,000 for victims and families
Vocational and Industrial Clubs of America (VICA) officers at the BOCES 2 Career and Technical Education Center in Spencerport raised $9,000 through an "I Care" campaign for victims and their families of the September 11 terrorists' acts.
For a $1 donation, students displayed 7"x7" color-printed flags with an "I Care" message and donors signatures throughout the halls of their school and area businesses. People who donated received a red, white, and blue ribbon, made by the students and staff at BOCES 2, thanking them for their support.
Big M in Gates helped by raising more than $3,000 for the campaign and the Doan Family of Dealerships raised more than $500. Students at the BOCES 2 Work Activities Center sold pins and buttons that they made, raising over $3,000, which also went to the campaign.
