Kimball to lead Clarkson another two years
Following six months of traversing the campaign trail, Paul Kimball said he was gratified by the election results in his bid for re-election as Town of Clarkson Supervisor.
Kimball, 49, who has served as supervisor for nearly two decades, will remain in office for at least the next two years. He won with a vote of 922 to 562 against his opponent and a fellow town board member, Christa Filipowicz.
This year's election posed a bit of a struggle for Kimball, as board member Filipowicz opposed him for the supervisor seat. The town's Republican Committee endorsed Filipowicz. In September's primary election, Kimball garnered the Republican endorsement but lost the Conservative backing to his opponent.
"We plan on staying the course," he said of his plans for the next two years. "Keeping tax rates stable, or lowering them if possible, is also on the agenda."
Kimball said the town board has a lot of work in front of it. "We are going ahead with the master plan," he said. "I'm concerned with the $28,000 price tag ... other towns have compiled a plan for $10,000 and if they can do it, we can do it also."
Kimball is director of area accounts at RG&E and is also chairman of Clarkson's Good Neighbor Day festival, and is immediate past president of the Monroe County Supervisors Association.
He will serve a two year term and will earn $16,315 as Clarkson's supervisor in 2002.
