Melissa Antes, a senior at Churchville-Chili High School, is a semi-finalist in the 2001 National Merit Scholarship Program. As a semi-finalist in the program, Melissa continues in the competition for Merit Scholarship awards to be offered next spring. Semi-finalists have the highest scores in their state and represent less than one percent of each state's high school seniors.

Five other C-C High School seniors have been named Commended Students in the program. William Bloss, Steven Cleere, Kevin Laley, Stephanie Schmitt and Rebecca Sillick are among the approximately 34,000 Commended Students nationwide. Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than one million students who entered the competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
