A close encounter
with the "Tomato
Plant Girl"
Holley third-grader Nicole Welch listens to the "Tomato Plant Girl," played by actress Anita Loomis, talk about the intricate process of designing her elaborate costume. Holley second and third-graders attended a performance of "Tomato Plant Girl" at Geva Theatre, then talked with the cast about acting and the technical aspects of theater production. The students also toured the backstage area, costume design area, prop room and "green room," where the actors wait to go on stage. The play, a poignant story that examines the qualities of true friendship, is a production of Geva Theatre's Big Theatre for Little People and an enrichment workshop through BOCES 2 Project ADEPT (A Diversified Enrichment Program for the Talented).
