C-C grad named to NSCAA All-American Team
Messiah College's junior defender Aaron Faro (North Chili, NY/Churchville-Chili) was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America 2001 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer All-American Team.
Faro anchored a defense that allowed only 13 goals on the year for a .55 goals against average. Faro, who did see some time at forward, was also an offensive threat as he netted 9 goals and 7 assists on the season. He was also a First Team All-Star and was named the conference's Most Valuable Player.
The Falcons (22-2), the 2000 NCAA Division III National Champions, advanced to the national semi-final before falling 2-1 in overtime to the University of Redlands. Messiah finished the 2001 season ranked #1 in the final NSCAA regular season poll.
