"Annie Get Your Gun" comes to RWC stage
The Roberts Wesleyan College-Community Theatre will present Irving Berlin's memorable musical "Annie Get Your Gun" in January 2002. The story revolves around Annie Oakley, an illiterate hillbilly with a knack for shooting guns. Persuaded to join Buffalo Bill's traveling Wild West Show, she soon falls hopelessly in love with Frank Butler, the show's featured shooting ace. But when Annie eclipses Frank as the show's main attraction, she realizes she'll have to make some hard choices if she wants to win the man she loves.
The New York production of "Annie Get Your Gun" ran for 1,147 performances and was the third longest running musical of the 1940s.
The performances will be at 7:30 p.m. on January 18, 19, 25 and 26 and at 2 p.m. on January 20 and 27 in the Roberts Cultural Life Center, Hale Auditorium. General admission costs $12, $10 for RWC family and matinee, $8 for students and seniors (62 and older). Call the Cultural Life Center Box Office at 585-594-6008 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
