Hilton-Parma Recreation releases Winter Brochure
Hilton-Parma Recreation has released the Winter Program Brochure. Starting in January, the Recreation Department is offering a variety of programs for all ages. Registration for these programs begins on January 2.
A sampling of the offerings includes a fundamentals of swimming class for pre-schoolers ages 1 to 4. Two programs include songs, crafts, games and more. For children ages 2 to 3 there is Little Bear, Big Bear and for ages 3-4, Child's Play. For older children - offerings include Sewing, Beginning Sign Language, Nothing up my Sleeve Magic Class, and Three Great Science Programs taught by Mind Ventures during Winter Break.
Also offered - Tai Chi, Karate, Archery, Golf Lessons, Figure Skating and Floor Hockey and a Jr. Basketball Camp for boys and girls in third grade.
Programs for adults include Women's Volleyball League, Co-Ed Volleyball, Golf Lessons, and Men's over-30 Basketball. Also, an Adult Quilting Class in which participants will make an Americana Flag Quilt will be offered.
Trips scheduled are: "Mamma Mia" in Toronto, Skiing at Holiday Valley and Bristol Mountain, and three separate opportunities to see NCAA Men's Basketball at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse.
For seniors, meal programs as well as activities that include the Walking Club, Crafts, Bridge, Euchre, Line Dancing and Seniorcize are available. The 18th Anniversary Celebration of the Senior Center will take place at the Hilton Exempt Club on Saturday, April 20, with dinner by Forest Hill Restaurant and music by The Music Makers.
The swim programs offer From Tots to Tadpoles, a class for children ages 4 to 6 with an adult or parent, and a season pass for regular participants of the Family Swim Program currently offered on Wednesdays and Fridays. The $25 cost of the pass includes admission to as many as 35 evenings of Family Swim.
