Cadets have undefeated week
The Hilton Cadets ice hockey team defeated Brighton 4-1, trounced Bishop Kearney/Eastridge 9-1 and tied Penfield 2-2 to remain among the leaders in the White Division.
On December 11, goaltender Mike Collichio made 22 saves in net and Matt Donlon picked up a pair of goals in the win over Brighton. The Cadets jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Mark Steiner and Joe Patarino before Donlon's pair sandwiched around a Baron goal in the third period. Greg Schwind picked up two assists in the game. Hilton pounded the Brighton net with 28 shots on goal.
December 13 was an offensive feast with 44 shots and nine goals. Schwind led the way with a hat trick; Patarino added a pair of goals, Eric Steiner had three assists and freshman Jamie Dill added two assists. Jason Drummery scored the first high school goal of his career in the game. Other scorers for the Cadets were Luke McGrath, Dan Zapf and Jim Burgio. Hilton led 6-0 after the first period and 9-0 before losing the shutout with three minutes left in the game.
Hilton closed the week with a 2-2 tie against division foe Penfield. Patarino and Burgio scored for the Cadets who are off until battling Irondequoit January 3.
