Rochester poet Todd Beers will visit Hilton's Northwood Elementary School January 3-16, 2002 to present writer's workshops and poetry readings for children, according to Language Arts Teacher Janis Hyland. Beers' visit to Northwood is sponsored by Young Audiences of Rochester and Northwood's Volunteer Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization. This is not his first visit to the school. Beers has worked with students before and will continue his extraordinary workshops in writing for students in grades three and six. Beers has edited many books of children's poetry including Waiting Room: Writings By Children and Adult Patients In A Hospital Setting which has received national recognition.
