The Hilton High School Varsity and Junior Varsity Cheerleading teams were top winners in the Annual Festival of Lights Cheerleading Competition held in Niagara Falls, Ontario this month. The Varsity Team placed first in the cheer routine scoring 95.5; first in the cheer dance scoring 96.5; and first place in the varsity division according to coach Laurie Miller, teacher at Hilton High School. "The varsity also received the title of 'Grand Champions' having the highest score of any high school team performing," Mrs. Miller said. "Alicia Maier received the 'Spirited Cheerleader' award from the team."

Junior Varsity cheerleaders coached by Kelly Roethel placed first in the cheer routine scoring a 91.5; first in the cheer dance scoring 94 giving the JV squad a first place in their division. Nicole Battalia received the 'Spirited Cheerleader' award from the team and then was awarded the "Most Spirited Cheerleader' from the JV division according to Mrs. Roethel.

Varsity team members were: Jessie Bell, Natalie Burritt, Angela Culmone, Tara Curran, Nicole Dalton, Jamie Delgatti, Karlie Donlon, Katie Donlon, Amanda Farrand, Melanie Friesen, Catharine Gallagher, Tammy Gardner, Stephanie Gebhard, Katrina Gutmann, Carli Harris, Shannon Judd, Nichole Klotzbach, Michelle LeRoy, Alicia Maier, Jennie Maloney, Serena Melvin, Emily O'Coin, Amy Pfeffer, Randi Roethel, Stephanie Rosenburgh, and Rachel Schmerbeck.

Junior Varsity team members were: Nicole Battaglia, Jenney Benway, Stephanie Benway, Malory Bridges, Jessie Brizee, Kristina Brizee, Rachel Bronson, Melissa Burritt, Kristie Catone, Liz Collochio, Alex Corese, Jenna Crampton, Nicole Denaro, Kari Ducyns, Erin Durfee, Kelley Durfee, Christine Farrand, Jessie Ferger, Mallory Gill, Katie Peown, Kristen Roth, Kayleigh Sherwood, Michelle Turrie and Sara Wagner.
