As part of Wedgewood Nursing Home's efforts to bring attention to the challenges facing the nursing home profession, the Spencerport facility hosted NYS Assemblyman Charlie Nesbitt (137th District) on December 20. The assemblyman toured the nursing home, introduced himself to residents and had an informal discussion with the staff. Issues discussed included nursing staff shortages, the inadequate funding of Nursing Homes, and the challenges of the current regulatory system.
