High schools compete in Science Olympiad
Some 375 students from 22 area high schools will come to SUNY Brockport on Saturday, February 9, to compete in the 2002 New York High School Science Olympiad.
Students will engage in life, physical, and earth science events, and apply their technological know-how in testing home built model planes, cars, robots, and towers that meet rigorous design specifications. The High School Science Olympiad promotes higher order scientific thinking among students in the spirit of healthy competition and teamwork.
The competition will take place in Cooper Hall and the Tuttle North Gyms from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Awards will be presented at 2:30 p.m. in the New York Room in Cooper Hall.
