Area educator named to post in Arizona
Mary Ulrich, formerly of Hilton, has been named director of the Arizona Center for Professions in Education in Phoenix, Arizona.
Ulrich, an education program specialist, will work in the Recruitment and Retention Program for teachers and administrators in Arizona. The position involves meeting with politicians, lobby groups as part of the Mountain Plains Regional Resources Center.
In addition to her duties as director, Ulrich also serve on the newly formed commission with area educators to examine critical teacher shortages and to discuss possible redesigns in teacher programs.
She is a graduate of Spencerport Central Schools and holds several degrees in the field of education. She has taught special education at Churchville-Chili, served as vice principal and pupil personnel service director at Wheatland-Chili and as director of special education at Spencerport Central Schools.
Ulrich is the daughter of Samuel and step-daughter of Arlene Chesonis of Spencerport. She is married to John Ulrich.
