Blue Devils sweep Hilton

The Brockport Blue Devils used strong play late in the first two games in a 30-19, 30-24, 30-23 sweep over Hilton in girl's volleyball January 19.

In game one, the two teams were tied 14-14 before Brockport went on a 9-0 run and won 16 of the final 21 points. In the second game, again tied at 16-16, the Blue Devils Kim Demmans had three consecutive aces to start her team on a 14-8 run to win. Hilton got only as close as three points in the third game.

Demmans had 23 assists and 8 aces in the match. Chris Arieno led with 24 digs and added 8 kills. Lynn Sorel was tops with 12 kills for Brockport. Katie Griffin led the Cadets with 17 digs. Heather Zapf added 16 digs and Jonelle Redhead led with 7 kills.

The Blue Devils are now 13-2 for the season and head into the Section Five playoffs this Thursday.
