Fackelman leads Bees
Byron-Bergen jumped out to a 13-3 lead, never trailed and won 52-47 in a girl's basketball game over Elba January 17. The Lady Bees didn't make a single shot from the field in the second quarter but were 11-12 from the free-throw line in the half to maintain a six-point lead at the break.
Megan Richards scored seven of her 13 points in the third quarter and was a force on the offensive and defensive boards as Byron-Bergen took a ten-point lead. Elba closed to within two points with 1:40 left in the game, but the Lady Bees scored five of the last seven points in the game.
Stephanie Fackelman led the Lady Bees with 14 points. Megan Richards scored 13 and Ashley Hohn added 12 points. Rachel Smith and Jocelyn Mroz combined for 11 points in the win.
The Lady Bees have five games remaining in the season including road games at Oakfield-Alabama and Pembroke in the coming week.
