New businesses slated for Hamlin
Hamlin may soon be home to a new Chinese restaurant, a Dollar General and a bank. Larry Gursslin, code enforcement officer for the town, said the China Moon Restaurant received final approval from Hamlin's Planning Board a few months ago and is waiting to complete renovations to its store in the Tops Plaza.
The restaurant, which is owned by a Buffalo group, will have a small dining room, but will mainly be takeout. An opening date has not yet been set.
A Dollar General is in the plans for a separate parcel of land immediately south of the Tops Plaza.
"I expect that this will be quite some time yet," said Gursslin, who added that the business still needs to gain a permit to build a road.
There has also been talk about the construction of a bank behind the Dollar General site on Lake Road, but further details were not available at this time.
